GZA’s Ernest Hanna named “Geotechnical Engineer of the Year” by ASCE Philadelphia Section

GZA announced today that Senior Principal Ernest Hanna has been selected as 2024 “Geotechnical Engineer of the Year” by the board of the American Society of Civil Engineers Philadelphia Section.

Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest national civil engineering society, now counting more than 160,000 members in 177 countries. ASCE’s Philadelphia Section is one of the largest and most active of ASCE’s 76 North American regional sections.

A 38-year veteran of GZA, Hanna has led teams serving clients on complex, high-profile projects in Greater Philadelphia, the mid-Atlantic, and Great Lakes States, including facilities upgrades at the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid Atlantic in the historic Philadelphia Navy Yard, multiple solid waste management facility upgrades, and numerous building and infrastructure projects.
