Dan Veriotti Joins GZA’s Expanding Great Lakes Coastal Engineering Practice

Dan Veriotti has joined GZA as Vice President and Associate Principal. Based in GZA’s suburban Chicago office in Oak Brook, Ill., Dan will oversee GZA’s expanding coastal engineering practice in the Great Lakes region, and further elevate GZA’s ongoing contributions and technical leadership in coastal resiliency engineering throughout the U.S.
Dan has more than 24 years of experience as project manager and lead engineer in site investigations, feasibility studies/master planning, environmental and ecosystem restoration, dredging, design development for civil infrastructure, wetlands, waterfronts, parks, marinas, harbors, shoreline protection design and water resources, as well as technical and structural analysis and construction administration. He has recently served as engineer of record, project manager, and lead engineer for a series of resilient projects on Lake Superior with a $20 million construction budget, and worked on more than 100 solar farm projects in Illinois.
A licensed professional engineer in eight states—Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—Dan earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the Maritime University of Constanta in Romania and dual master’s degrees in coastal engineering and water resources/coastal hydraulics from the University of Michigan.
