Six Hazard Mitigation Grants Available for Communities Affected by Storms in Maine

The Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is currently accepting applications for six grants under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).

The grants are provided to help state, municipal, tribal, and territorial governments located in the area of a presidentially declared disaster develop hazard mitigation plans and rebuild communities to reduce or mitigate future disaster losses. Developing and adopting a hazard mitigation plan is a requirement of these grants.

Guidance documents are available on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) website.

The HMGP grants available are:

  • DR 4719 – May Day Disaster Funding – Applications due September 4th, 2024.
