David M. Leone, P.E. is a Vice President and Hydraulic Engineer at GZA based in the metropolitan Boston area. He has been with GZA for over 17 years and specializes in hydrology and hydraulic engineering.
He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. He is a licensed P.E. in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. He has performed, managed, and provided oversight for many dam engineering, surface water hydrology, open-channel hydraulics, stream restoration, and flood risk assessment and mitigation projects. His expertise includes computer modeling of rainfall/runoff processes, hydraulic structures, two-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling and mapping using geographic information systems (GIS). Most recently, he has been a key part of a team performing flood re-evaluations at 18 nuclear power plant sites throughout the United States.
Dave is a member of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, the American Water Resources Association, the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, and has participated in the Dam Decommissioning working committee of the U.S. Society on Dams.
